Players despise and blacklist these servers. ![]() Pay-to-win Premium Benefit servers exist as a constant point of discussion in the Team Fortress 2 community. Some example of Pay-to-win Premium Benefits are: faster momement speed, no recharge timers on items, playing as a tiny player and no respawn times. Benefit granted to a player differs from server to server greatly. Pay-to-win Premium Benefits on the other hand are essentially cheats rewarded to player who donate. Things like particle effect on their weapons or something not really game-changing like being picked last to be autobalanced. Cosmetic benefits and pay-to-win.Ĭosmetic benefits servers basically reward players who donate with cosmetic rewards. Premium Benefit servers can be separated into 2 categories. Premium Benefit is a mod where players who donate money towards a server receive benefits when playing on said server. Currently there are roughly 200 servers with Premium Benefit. Premium Benefit servers in Team Fortress 2 first appeared shortly after the game launched in October 2007. It’s a significantly game-changing mod but doesn’t affect standard game objectives. Unlike most mods presented in this series, Premium Benefit isn’t a full blown mod-gamemode. Premium Benefit is a Team fortress 2 server plugin.
